This view seems absurd to Christians who consider the crucifixion to be a historical fact, and who consider that 600 years of Christian history could not have been wrong. Some Muslims try to deal with the issue by saying that someone else was crucified in Jesus' place. Some Muslims try to deal with the issue by saying that Jesus was recussitated after being taken down from the cross. This really does make more of a mystery out of Jesus' fate, and adds to the alleged conjecture that already existed. But how about just simply accepting that it was Jesus on the cross, and accepting that Jesus remained on the cross until his spirit departed from him? How about explaining the Qur'an with the Qur'an and understanding the above quoted ayat in light of the following Qur'anic ayat; ? |
