Christian/Muslim ThreadsWar in IslamTurkey and Egypt secular regimes? yeah right, that's what they claim themselves to be... Turkey doesn't uphold equality for all people since it's persecutes and discriminates Kurds on a daily basis and it's own government is filled with military people wich is also against secular values... yet on the other hand Turkey is the most secular muslim country their is, thx to Ataturk, but It's hated by the muslim countries because it isn't islam and it's hated by the european countries because it isn't secular. and Egypt is a very dubious country, it's full of low profile terrorists who smuggle arms into palestine and seek to killing their own presidents and or people who blaspheme their holy prophet, this low profile terrorist squadron goes by the name of the "brotherhood of muslims", next to that doesn't Egypt allow religious freedom.... churches are forbidden to be build in Egypt (but this goes for most of islamic countries) and you are forced to have a religion on your pasport, so even the most die hard atheist is forced to say he's a christian on his pasport, but he'd better take muslim if he's able to choose so he won't be threated as a second rank citizen who has to pay taxes (discrimination). On top of that is it IMPOSSIBLE for a muslim to change his religion to christianity or any other for that matter on his pasport... while if it happend vice versa it can be done in a matter of minutes... see i'm not surprised that you get persecuted in such countries and any peace protester that isn't being persecuted by a rotten government isn't doing it for a good cause. You do remember those names don't you? how many names of teenage palestian children have you rememberd who have blown themselves up? see the difference here, these people you mentioned (alltough not known to the west -and why is that neccerary?) are remembered for their protests and their voice still lives on and are the ideals and inspiration for those to come, in a same way that Gandhi was a 20th century inspiration for all the non violent leaders around the world: To Quote Soren Kierkegaard: "The tyrant dies and his rule ends, the martyr dies and his rule begins." |
