2 Thessalonians 2:3 - Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin [lawlessness] be revealed, the son of perdition;
Many of us have been told, that we don't HAVE to keep God's commandments. That they were for Isreal only. But let us not get confused between those rituals and ordinances that were a foreshadowing of things to come, with the 10 that were written with the finger of God, which are eternal...
Romans 3:31 - Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
We establish the law in our lives. But how is this done, can a man do this?
Romans 13:10 - Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Matthew 5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
He came to fulfill and not destroy or do away with the Commandments of God. But what else does he say?
5:18-19 - For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
So I ask, is there any of them that you are told that is no longer necessary? Is it bearing false witness? Adultery? the Sabbath? Murder? According to Christ's words, whosoever shall break the least of these and teach others to, they are the least (lowest, less honorable). What are you being taught?
Matthew 22:40 - On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Love of God and love for the neighbor. As stated above, love is the fulfillment of the law. So therefore, what does it mean to love God?
Exodus 20:6 - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
John 14:24 - He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
1 John 2:4 - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Clearly, He says if you love Him, you obey. And if you do not obey, you do not love Him. Plain and simple. Therefore, we have transgressed the Law of Christ.
1 John 3:4 - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
James 4:8 - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Many will say, we cannot stop sinning. But are all things possible with God? If they are, then surely one can stop sinning. As He places no burden on us that we cannot handle. Anyone telling you, that you cannot obey God, is part of this man of lawlessness. Who teaches that you and I are without a law that we are held accoutable of.
Revelation 18:4 - And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Part two will deal with being dead to the law...
