Vote on a pollWhat is atheism?I don't know how christians view atheism, however wherever i've seen it brought up its been treated as a belief itself. For example the 'Atheists are angry at this cartoon topic'. I didn't quite understand what was meant by that because i couldn't see any real reason why someone like me would be angry with it at all. It was very interesting. I think the problem is that atheism is treated (not only by christians but by many who call themselves atheists) as a belief itself. As in I believe in not believing in God rather than simply not believing in him. So in proving, or providing evidence to, the existance of God (or some flaw in evolution), you are proving atheism wrong and will therefore anger the atheists (who believe in atheism as it where). I think if most atheists (and i know this is the case for me) would probably be very interested if proof or strong evidence was provided as to the existance of God. I doubt they would despise the idea as if some belief of their's had been violated. What do you think? |
