Science, Creation & EvolutionSmoking-Gun Evidence of Man-Monkey Kindred: Episode II -TailAineo wrote:ApostateAbe wrote:Imagine the surprise that would result if some human babies were born with partially-formed elephant trunks, insect antennae, or bird wings. We never see that happening. With special creation, such mutations are no more likely than monkey-like tails, with or without the fall of Adam and Eve. Yet we see monkey-like tails and primate-like fur (as you disclosed earlier), and we don't see trunks, antennae, or wings on human children.
However, if all life has a common ancestor then you would expect to see other variants besides tails and premature hair on human children. Since we don't see children born with monkey like hands or feet then the fact that a child is born with a vestigial tail does not prove your point.
That is another good objection (you know I wouldn't say that if I didn't have a ready answer).
Monkey-like hands and lengthened toes are examples of genes that have have been "overwritten." But tails and fur are genes have been merely "turned off." We simply don't have monkey-hands or monkey-feet in our genes anymore, but we do have monkey tails in our DNA. Genes for a tail were recently discovered in the human genome ( CNN.com, AASV).
