Occam's razor: http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/OCCAMRAZ.html
In the Job passage the terms 'loose' and 'bind' are being used in oppposition to each other. How would they have known that these two star groups are behaving in oppposite ways?
Judges 5 is the Song of Deborah. If you were unaware of that, maybe it would be best if you read the Bible before you tried to discuss it. Songs are not considered narrative history. On the other hand, if there was a meteorite shower during the battle, it might well be considered that the 'stars of heaven' fought against Israel's enemies. Or it could mean that the powers of heaven itself were enabling the Israelite victory. But only someone ignorant would consider that the words of a song should be relied upon as conveying narrative history! You guys have a lot of learning to do.
Sewell's article describes the work and conclusions of Wiseman in his archaeological discoveries during the thirties. Quit being lazy. Read the thing if you have any interest in the subject. If you don't, quit talking about it in ignorance.
IN the mean time, eyewitness accounts are considered verification in a court of law regarding events that happened. But that doesn't sit well with those who don't want God to be real.
His reality does not depend upon your belief in Him, however.
A few of you here are making absolute fools of yourselves by mocking things you know little or nothing about. It is always a pleasure to discuss things with people who are familiar with the subjects they are talking about, whether or not we agree.
These threads, however, that Admiral, Jovaro (are you the same person?), badme, etc. are contributing to are nothing but noise. You folks are adding no substance whatsoever.
Go read something and see if you can do better. I don't care if you agree with me or not, but see if you cannot at least post something reasonable, informative, and including at least a wee bit of data.
Thanks.
