A posting by Abdurahman, on 10th January, 2005; under Holy Quran talks to Jews and Christians eople of the Book
"Muslims do not believe that Jesus was crucified, but that Jesus' enemies planned to crucify him and that God raised him up to him, and the likeness of Jesus was put on another man (and they killed that man.)….(Qur'an 4:157)
…They said "We killed Jesus the Messiah, son of Mary, the Messenger of God." They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man.) …(Qur'an 4:157)"
This quotation is a travesty against the Koran. Abdurahaman MISQUOTED THE KORAN. In the Koran itself there is nothing about “ANOTHER MAN!!!”
The following is the translation as per this web site:

157. As well as their statement when they said, we surely killed the Healer, Son of Mary, messenger of God697, however, they did not kill him and they did not crucify him but it was perceived by them as such. Furthermore, those who disputed in this matter are doubtful about it. They have no knowledge thereof except following conjecture. Moreover, for sure, they did not kill him.
[ Other translations are more or less the same]
As all can see, there is nothing about “ANOTHER MAN”.
This means one thing, that any thing our friend Abduurahman writes is doubtful, sorry to say! I sincerely hope that Abdurahman would provide a plausible excuse for this misquotation!!!
However, we know that there are different Korans, as per this quotation from the following web site:
Next is from: http://www.message-of-god.com/English%2 ... uction.htm
The original Quran was written by Mohammed's hand. After his departure, a group of his followers gathered his handwritten Quran, and added two verses to the end of chapter 9 in order to honor their prophet. They then copied it and sent it to different communities. Years later, by the will of God, the original Quran was burnt.
The First Qurans were written in North Arabic script. The Arabic script relates directly to the "Nabatian" script, which was derived from Aramaic, 1400 years ago. Later the marking of vowels or using diacritics were added to the Arabic script for ease of reading, since Arabic text dose not have any vowels. By using diacritics, some characters of Arabic alphabet have been replaced, and at the same time some characters were added to the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet. Ever since, by the will of God, we have been deprived from the correct spelling of some of the words in the Quran. That is why today we have so many different Arabic Qurans, each with different spellings. For detail information about Arabic script please click Here and then come back
[Incidently, here there is a claim that the Koran was written by Mohamed’s hand, when the greatest base for the idea that the Koran is a miracle, is that Mohamed was illiterate! Was Mohamed illiterate or not?] Of course history tell us how the Koran was gathered many years after Mohamed’s death.
So we see that the Koran says that: Jesus was not crucified but it appeared to them as if he was. Many interpretations to this verse, depending on what the commentator want to convey. Well, here it is for you: He was not killed because how can they kill God, but they thought they triumphed over him, thinking they ended his mission being hanged on the Cross. But how can you kill God! It was an illusion as far as they were concerned, that is the meaning. There is nothing in the Koran that somebody else was crucified in his place, just attempts of interpretation by different commentators, illustrated by our friend Abdurahman.
To sum up: Jesus was crucified, the Koran says it appeared to them that they crucified him, but they can’t, because he is God Incarnate.
Abdurahman relates Jesus and Adam:
“Jesus was created miraculously by God who had also created Adam without Mother OR Father. God said, 'The case of Jesus was like the case of Adam. He (God) created Adam from dust, then said to him, 'BE!' and he came into being.' (Qur'an 3:59)”
Well, Adam was created from dust, Jesus was BORNE through the Holy Spirit: Koran states that Jesus is a Spirit from God. Big difference with Adam the human, Adam from dust.
Abdurahman is invited to comment, but one need to check on every word he writes!
