On the January 4, 2005 edition of "The O'Reilly Factor," Bill O'Reilly stated that he does not think that those who do not believe in Jesus Christ will go to Hell. Please pray that God will open his eyes to the truth, that the Holy Spirit will convict his conscience, and that O'Reilly will admit the truth on his program, in the hopes that his viewers will not be swayed by the lie that he's currently promoting. I also suggest that you send him emails (politely worded and Scripturally accurate), letting him know that you are praying for him and that he is promoting a dangerous belief. I've already sent him an email, reminding him of John 3:16-18, which everyone -- even nonbelievers -- has heard.
Here's the email address: oreilly@foxnews.com
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
Other Scriptures that you may want to include are:
John 13:6-8, He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"
Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
"No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet."
Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."
John 17:1-3, After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
"Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Romans 10:9-13, "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That is you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile -- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
But then again, going by what I've been reading on Operation Save America, I'm not too surprised at O'Reilly's ignorance. He's a professing Catholic, but nothing about his arrogance, lies, and hatred for those who speak God's truth, tells me that he's a follower of Christ. He is Christian in name only, but not in faith or deed.
