Luke 15: 3-7
Then Jesus told them in this parable: Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, "Rejoice with me, I have found my lost sheep". I tell you that in the same way there will be no more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 18:9-14
To some that were confident of their own rightgousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: Two men went into the temple to pray, one a pharisee and the other a tax collector. The pharisee stood up and prayed about himself:"God, I thank you that I an not like other men-robbers, evildoers, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get".
But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, " God, have mercy on me, a sinner". I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
