I have started this thread as I promised in another post.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Gen 1:29
The above instructions given to us shows that our design was for being a Frugivore/Herbivore.
What does this mean? Why is it written? Certainly at the time of writing they were eating meat. In my mind it is a small passage but an important one. It gives clear simple instructions for eating. As I have posted before, that the average life span before the flood was around 1000 years and after the flood it has dropped to 99 years and now may even be lower. Why? what was changed? Meat was added to the diet
In this post I will try and explain my position. These are things that I have read and remembered but I do not have specific links to the exact material that I read since I have changed laptops and lost all of my bookmarks.
Omnivores and why we Humans should not be considered one
Here is a small list of differences between Omnivores and humans.
I’m going to include Omnivores and Carnivores in the same group here, it should also be noted that some species may not have a certain characteristic listed below but still be listed as omnivore.
Omnivores have teeth that bypass in a scissor like motion.
Humans have teeth that land on top of each other with only the front bypassing.
Omnivores have almost no side to side action in their jaws.
Humans have side to side movement of their jaws.
Omnivores have sharp claws, talons and beaks
Humans have Fingers, weak nails and lips
Omnivores have pointed canine teeth for tearing and ripping with only slight ability to mash with the molars as seen in Dogs
Humans have flat, squared off teeth for chopping, grinding and mashing with only 2 canines
Omnivores gulp their food in large chunks
Humans chew their food
Omnivores have large mouth openings
Humans have comparatively small mouth openings
Omnivores have weak lips
Humans have strong lips which aid in food transmittal
Designed for hunting?
Omnivores are adapt at hunting with natural features i.e. teeth, claws, fangs, speed and agility
Humans do not have these abilities for hunting in the wild without the aid of tools.
Raw Meat, Have all you want (if you can stomach it)
To put this to the test we will need a volunteer.
First our volunteer will have to track and capture a wild animal, and then they will have to rip open its flesh with no tools but their own that they were born with. Next they will have to consume the flesh and organs completely raw with no cooking.
The second part of the test will be to find some road kill or an animal that has fallen to another predator. Our volunteer will then have to eat some of the kill that is there. Please note that you may have to fend off other predators like wolves or lions. Also there may be some decay which would be present.
Why did I list the above test? Ask yourself if this would feel natural? Remember that if we were Carnivore/Omnivores we would not be very functional at this. We have Gag and Nausea Reflexes that stop us from eating spoiled proteins and generally avoid these areas due to the offensive odors. We also do not have the ability to fend off a pack of wolves with the tools we were born with.
Think about all of the times you turned your head when you smelled rotten milk or seen a moldy bowl of something in the fridge. Now think about the Omnivores in the wild. Ever see them eat something dead that may have been there for a while?
well what do you think?
