Christian/Muslim ThreadsThe 99 Names of the Antichrist!Greetings H2O, Well…since you are a Muslim answering VSteven509’S query, what should he exactly do with your self-proclaimed “biased” advice…? This is good advice… This is exactly what I did, before drawing any conclusions regarding the similarities or differences between the two Books. I like how you have the Holy Bible prioritized as coming first and then the Koran as coming second….nice touch… This is the preferred method, as a person can roll right into the Koran after finishing the last Book of the Holy Bible, the Book of Revelation…and, since, the Book of Revelation is a Cliff’s notes for the Holy Bible…a newbie can easily see that it is also a Cliff’s notes for the Koran as well….all of this while the last Book of the Holy Bible is still fresh in your memory bank… Or…if a person is pressed for time, he/she can just read the first Book of the Holy Bible (Genesis) and the last book of the Holy Bible (Revelation)….before reading the entire Koran…as these two Biblical books form 99% of the content of the Koran. I like to think of the Koran as Biblical book-ends…with a smattering of material in between….. What do you think….? In addition, aside from self study, I would recommend that a person read a Literal rendering of both texts…forgo the “popular” English renderings, especially the ones for the Koran....as they are seriously jaded…. VSteven509, In a nutshell, the Koran is no more that the Biblical Hebrew & Greek scriptures translated (or mistranslated) into the Arabic of the Koran. No more, no less. This being the case, the Koran will forever be enslaved to the Holy Bible for constant correction and clarification in ALL manner of things… You will find the same material discussed in the Koran as in the Holy Bible, including: 1) Jesus was Crucified 2) Jesus was Resurrected 3) Jesus will judge the dead 4) Jesus is God Almighty 5) The Triune nature of God Etc, etc… But….I will leave you to draw your own conclusions… Remember to read it in a LITERAL rendering, as this is the least biased rendering… Take care… |
