A week ago Wednesday I visited the vampires for my quarterly blood letting. I called today to get the results.
My CD4 count is up to 1014 from 890 and my viral load count dropped a couple points to 116 copies per ml. A CD4 count of 500 is considered normal. I have a doctor's appointment next Wednesday and I know my doctor will be pleased as this is the third quaterly test where my CD4 count was higher than 450. She may be a little concerned the viral load has not dropped to undetectable this time as it went from undetectable to about 124 copies per ml last time. However, I am not concerned about the viral load. 2 1/2 years ago my viral load was 25,000 copies per ml, which again is nothing to be overly concerned about. What was of concern was my CD4 count was only 290. The reason my doctor's were concerned at that time is my prior blood work showed an undetectable viral load and a CD4 count of 550.
Now if the doctor's can only find a magic "cure" for the fatigue I will be doing cartwheels.
