The first Christians were Jews, the apostles were Jews. After Peter preached in Jerusalem 3000 Jews were converted. Then Peter preached to the Samaritans and then to Cornelius. NO Christian was referred to as Catholic until the Catholic Church was organized and transliterated the Greek work "katholikos" to Catholic in the writings of your ECF's.
Did I not state in a previous post that the first Christians were Greeks and Hellenized Jews? They didnt have to be reffered to as Catholics, that was Just a title but the first church was the Catholic Churh, therefore they were Catholic.

Rome, I am not the most intelligent person on this board but I am not stupid. I can read and I can research and have your church father's writings.
Agreed.

If you want to believe your own press that is up to you, but don't insult our intelligence with your continued revisionistic history that denies real and Biblical history.
Show me the "revisionistic history" that I have presented to you.

The first "protestant" was Jesus Christ and His disciples.
You are contradicting yourself, above you said the apostles were Jewish.
Jesus Christ was not a Protestant nor a Catholic, but a Jew.

When Catholics are caught in their lies they appeal to Catholic Church revisionistic history, and they want to change the subject by appealing to our lack of 1500 years of oppressive history of evil men who lied, murdered, lived immoral lives, bought and sold offices in the church, started wars and instituted the inquistions to murder dissenters.
aha? and what has this got to do with the topic? we have already spoken about this.
What Church would you like me to appeal to? I am a Catholic, obviously I would appeal to the Catholic church its just common sence.

If length of history is any indication of truth then the Jews have you beaten by 1500 years; and as the Jews rejected their Messiah the official doctrines of the Catholic Church do also.
Length of history of the church that Christ built is very important.

Do you always use the word 'Christ' that way? That alone would tell me you do not hold Him in high regard. That alone would make me doubt your Christianity, really. Please, out of respect for those of us who love and follow Him, do not use His title that way.
For Christ sake, for God sake and for Heavens sake, am I blaspheming?
I would think everyone here loves and strives to follow Christ.

In the meantime, we have here in the house four interlinears dealing with both Greek and Hebrew. We have several Concordances so we can look up words. Two years ago my husband and I were invited guests in Colorado Springs at a meeting of a number of Bible translators. At the risk of sounding conceited, I am willing to say that the two of us can stand up to just about anyone alive today regarding the meaning of various biblical texts in Hebrew or in Greek. We have spent years studying.
Thats very intresting but at the end of the day you used a word "until" to prove Mary had children, when this word proves nothing. So all the above is useless as you do not know simple things like there was no word for "brethren" in Hebrew or Aramaic, for example.

You keep spouting off about what various languages say, but I can tell from the way you write that you are only saying what your teachers and catechisms have taught you to say. I am not impressed. You have demonstrated a number of times that you really don't know what you are talking about. But you sure do know the Catholic arguments! I'll give you that one!
I am only saying what those words truly mean once translated from the original language that they were written in. I know exactly what I am talking about, you on the other hand have proved absoloutely nothing.
Yes I do know the Catholic arguments, as well as I know the various Protestant arguments. It just happens that Catholicism makes more sence at the end of the day.

It was, in the meantime Constantine who started the Roman Catholic church. He already HAD the title 'Pontus Maximus.' It was a pagan title from pagan religions. The word 'diocese' comes from the Roman political system. The perfectly round wafers bear no resemblance at all to the bread broken by Jesus at the Last Supper. However they were in existence as 'communion' wafers for the sun god for a long time before Christianity. Their very roundness was required because they were representatives of the round sun.
Could you give me unbiast evidence to prove the above? various Protestant Churches use the round shaped communion wafers too!
Try and take your own advice and stick to the topic.

Christianity, however, is different. The first meeting places were in houses. The first communion celebrations were actual meals. Scripture and the Apostles' letters were studied diligently and quoted in hundreds of letters, many of which we still have. It is from these letters, as a matter of fact, that we know that the books of the Bible were accepted as Holy Scripture before the Council at Nicea. All they did was confirm them. Origen (186-254), Eusebius (260-339), Athanasius (209-373), and Cyril of Jerusalem (315-386) all recognized the same books as Scripture that we do.
The first Christians met in houses because they were presecuted, JW's still meet in each others houses, so what is your point?
How many churches have you been to where they give you meals to eat instead of wafers? lol, please this is getting funny
Actually the books of the bible and all the apostolic letters were considered canon by the Catholic Church, and no other.
It was the Catholic Church that compiled the books of the bible if you do not know simple facts like that, it really shows your ignorance.

Thank you for admiring my determination, but if anyone is ignorant its you.
Can I purpose a idea? How about we try and stay on topic.
