Christian/Muslim ThreadsYaa Ayyuhalladzeena aamaanoo !!! :: Re: Yaa Ayyuhalladzeena aamaanoo !!!Salaams brother, I agree with you in that we should do our best. But I dont think if some claims go unanswered that will mean they are true or they are difficult to challenge. I believe Muslims here do their best given their limited time and conditions. Besides, there might be other ways for service of Allah in the outside world too. Btw, I respect and praise your sincerity, knowledge and efforts here. Another point I would like to mention that excessive involvement in such debates can make us upset, just like our noble Prophet was at a time. But Allah relieved Him by mentioning that he is only responsible for conveying the message and hedayah (iman) is at His hands. Thats something we should keep in mind i guess. And there are many good news in fact. A French intelligence report, as quoted by New York Times recently, says that between 30 000- 50 000 converted to Islam only in 2003 in France. Some verses that shed light: [3] But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted myself entirely to Allah and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and Allah sees the servants. [2] Say: Do you dispute with us about Allah, and He is our Lord and your Lord, and we shall have our deeds and you shall have your deeds, and we are sincere to Him. [29]And do not dispute with the followers of the Book except by what is best, except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our God and your God is One, and to Him do we submit. [3.61] But whoever disputes with you in this matter after what has come to you of knowledge, then say: Come let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women and our near people and your near people, then let us be earnest in prayer, and pray for the curse of Allah on the liars. The last verse above has an interesting background. A few monks from Yemen came to Muhammad pbuh and argued with him about Jesus pbuh. Again and again. They insisted and insisted. You know at some point youu run out of words, and everything is up to hearts then. Allah showed His prophet (pbuh) the way. The monks did not have the guts and they ran away. The lesson is, if a prophet cannot change minds of some people, how can we? |
