Occult.. it's true power source?Harry Potter - Good or Bad?Ah, but they were both guilty, Adam was with her that very moment she talked to the serpent, and he didn't lift a finger. Now back to the original subject. Harry potter is very dangerous, but at the same time very harmless. Harry potter is very dangerous because his book series plant the first seeds of belief in the occult. And that makes it very dangerous, because there is practically no kid in this world that does not know harry potter and the magical world he lives in. Because every kid knows this, a great deal of them will wish to find out more of this world and so stumble slowly but surely into occultism if they don't have any reasonable substitute(e.g. Christianity) Why harry potter is harmless is because it's too surreal, too much magic and unnatural things happen. I am an experienced fantasy reader(Riftwars, Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth, Chronicles of Aurian) and I know the dangers of properly written fantasy. In properly written fantasy, magical events happen once or twice per book, and that is about it, no more no less, they are more dangerous because those book truely go into the perons and almost "teach" you how to do the feats the main character(s) do. These books are way more luring than any of the harry potter books. If you are not a "giant" in your faith, do not read these books without serious consideration of what the content is. It will tempt you, it will lure you. I personally are pretty firm in my faith, and I had to give up my favorite book type because it would tempt me, and it would lure me(Especially since I've had an extended past in the occult world, and I know how to do a lot of things...) When your kid wishes to read Harry Potter, do not stop him/her, because he/she will read it anyways. Other kids read it, and talk about it, and they don't wish to be out of the social stream. But before you let them read, you explain to them that wizardry and witchcraft is against God. Tell them that most kids that practise occultism get laughed at and ridiculed for what they believe and that they stand not justified in their faith. Explain to them that when they get ridiculed as being a Christian isn't that bad, because God will come to them, and protect them against harm. Teach your kids to pray before going to bed, to pray for protection against evil spirits, protection against others and protection against temptation. When you are sure that the faith of your kid is firm and solidly founded you can happyly let them read Harry Potter. I even suggest that you go with them and explore occultism, and show them where it eventually leads(Sexual immorality, lying, theft, suicide, etc...) Anyways, this is my little say, Michael P.S. Omega, if you reply to me: 1. Do not end your first sentence with a ! 2. Do not stumble of your words to agree with me(In other words, I'm allergic to kissing up style of posting, although you might mean it well. I am a man who likes to have bare words which display the heart, instead of words which are heavyly sugar coated[and that is how your words appear to me] 3. Or if you disagree, do not use coloured and big letters |
