But I don't understand how people can choose homosexuality... I have a couple of good friends who are gay and both of them would rather not be. Imagine what it means... you can't have a family and it is much more tempting to commit sexual immorality.
I guess if you are homosexual, even if you don't physically practise it, you are bound to commit those acts in your heart.
I always thought that homosexuality was caused by chemical imbalances during gestation. I didn't think people actually had a choice. Why would anyone want to choose homosexuality, with everything that comes with it?
I once thought that perhaps God created homosexuals because He saw that the Earth which He had created was getting a bit crowded. I know this seems like a bit of a silly theory, because it would mean that God would be contradicting Himself.
How did this all arise? God created man and woman and intended for them to become one flesh. Then, somewhere down the line, some individuals started having desire for the same gender. Where did it come from?
This is a very confusing issue for me, as I haven't been a Christian for that long; and also as a couple of my friends had a terrible time coming to terms with the fact that they were gay. One of them was in tears as he thought we wouldn't love him anymore. On one hand I'm having trouble seeing how a homosexual chooses that path, but on the other hand, if a homosexual didn't choose that path, then how could homosexuality be sinful? Is it just the sinful nature of Man?
