ArchivedErrors in the Bible?Peace, One can notice that if all of what we human think are just conjectures and only God's words are absolute, then a Christian can easily think like a Muslim in this context. In other words, a Christian would take the holy scripture with high esteem as Muslims do with Qur'an. A Jew will do the same too. How can one claim that the Scipture he believes in is more reliable and authentic, since authenticity is a matter of another conjecture? This is indeed an important question. And I expect possible answers from you. My answer is here. A sentence I read lately might ring a bell. "Truth has immediate recognition." That is a capacity God built in us. We can differentiate between good and evil. The problem with humans is that they seek a version of truth that fits well to their current situation and their establishment on the Earth. Truth may require sacrifice on tastes, habits, wealth, social status and/or more. But they usually do not seek truth in its pure form, and accept to rearrange their life accordingly. So the key to search for true knowledge is sincerity, and being aware of oneself and one's defects. A sufi poet Yunus Emre said Knowledge is to know To know oneself If you dont know yourself It is an effort in vain. Perhaps before setting out high goals for our religions we should deal with ourselves first. Our egos set traps before us. We should be able to notice these traps in the first place. Having said this, after all I might be one falling in that trap. But I think thats something related to how sincere I am or I am trying to be. Am I being more harsh on me than others? Am I ready to sacrifice? Or am I deceiving myself and pretending to be a good one? As long as I am constantly asking these questions, I believe God will lead me to truth and keep on it. There's another noteworthy trap in religion, that is being more royalist than the King! Suicide bombers! God wants us to find the moderate way. The means should not overshadow the goals. God knows better. (Forgive me 4GiveThemLord for the tone ) Unite |
