I see certain points in the Bible which I see as errors, so could the Christians here please clarify them to me. I am a Muslim.
But, I would like to apologize in advance if I hurt any Christian's feelings by this post; this is not my intention.
1. Isaiah 37 and II Kings 19 are both word for word the same though they are believed to be written by two difference writers centuries apart, whom the Christians believe had been inspired by God. Any person can tell that this scenario is impossible uncless the person writing later copied from the one who wrote earlier.
One of the two has definitely been 100% plagiarized. If not, how do you explain them?
2. WHAT DID THE LORD DECREE 3 YEARS FAMINE OR 7 YEARS FAMINE?
II SAMUEL 24:13
13.So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? Or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue, thee?
I CHRONICLES 21:11
11. So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Choose thee
12. Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee;
How do you explain this?
3. HOW OLD WAS JEHOIACHIN? 8 OR 18?
II CHRONICLES 36
9. Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
II KINGS 24
8. Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mothers name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
How do you explain this?
4. 700 or 7 000?
II SAMUEL 10
18. And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.
I CHRONICLES 19
18. But the Syrians fled before Israel: and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the captain of the host.
Note also the difference of 'horsemen' and 'footmen' in the two verses.
How do you explain this?
5. I KINGS 7
26. And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths..
II CHRONICLES 4
5. And the thickness of it was an handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and it received and held three thousand baths.
Both verses speak of the same thing but with a difference of 1000.
How do you explain this?
6. II CHRONICLES
CHAPTER 9
25. And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
I KINGS
CHAPTER 4
26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
How do you explain this?
7. WILL THE EARTH PERISH OR ABIDE FOREVER?
Eccl1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
Heb1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
Heb1:11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
8. DOES THE HEAVENS AS WELL AS THE EARTH HAVE PILLARS?
Job26:11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
But the Quran says:
"He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature in pairs." (31:10)
Job9:6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
9. ARE ALL HERBS AND TREES EDIBLE?
Ge1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Ofcourse, we know that many herbs are poisonous, e. wild berries, buck-eye pod. So how does God tell us that all herbs and trees are edible?
10. 4. THE RAINBOW
Ge9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Ge9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
This doesn't seem scientific to me since I know that rainbow is actually seen due to the refraction of light through raindrops. Also, there must have been many rainbows before Prophet Noah's(pbuh) time to whom this verse is addressed. Plus, the weather here where I live is quite cloudy since a few days but I don't see any rainbows. So could you please explain this verse?
11. DISINFECTING A HOUSE FROM PLAGUE OF LEPROSY
Lev14:52 And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird
I know that blood is a good agent of germs, bacteria, etc. so I don't think any doctor would even imagine cleaning a house with it. So how do you explain this?
12. PERIOD OF UNCLEANLINESS AFTER CHILDBIRTH
Lev12:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days;
Lev12:4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days;
For a male child, 7 + 33 = 40 days
Lev12:5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.
For a female child, 14 + 66 = 80 days.
How do you explain this medically?
13. BITTER WATER TEST FOR ADULTERY
Book of Numbers, Chapter 5, verses 11 to 33 speaks of a test to know whether a woman has committed adultery.
Why don't I find Christians using it? I heard about Bill clinton's scandal few years back so why didn't the American Christian missionaries use it against him?
14. EZRA2:2-63 AND NEHEMIAH7:7-65
A list of people is given here referring to the incident of people returning from captivity .
In no less than 18 places in the verses, the name is exactly the same but the number is different.
Furthermore,
Ezra2:64 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
Neh7:66 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
But if you added the numbers up yourself, the total is different.
In Ezra2:2-63, the total comes to 29818.
In Nehemiah7:7-65, the total comes to 31089.
Plus,
Ezra2:65 Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.
Neh7:67 Beside their manservants and their maidservants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred forty and five singing men and singing women.
15. 2Ki24:8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months.
2Chr36:9 Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem.
I've got more but I would first like answers to these 15 I've mentioned.
Take care.
