ArchivedErrors in the Bible? :: Re: Errors in the Bible?I would like to focus on this particular type of questions being asked by muslims, at first the question is asked in the vein that it is a contradiction. Let us for a second ignore the fact that Christians are no longer under levitical law, some of those laws were made by men, or indeed the length of time required for male and female bonding to the mother in the desert 3,000+ years ago. Is the statement really a contradiction? This is like asking a muslim why perform salat 5 times a day or why circumnavigate the ka'ba 7 times Or why a woman perpetually bleeding would refrain from the mosque for 40 days and forty nights or why women are not to leave their homes without permission from their husbands. or why the inheritance laws are different for men and women or why a woman is deficient in mind to a man or why a man can have several wives and a woman only one husband or why a man can beat his wife but his wife cannot beat him we can even stretch back and ask why "thou shalt not kill" or why "thou shalt not steal" In other words the question is not focused on an alledged contradiction but wants you to put yourself in the place of the originator of the statement. |
