ArchivedErrors in the Bible?Firstly, the original Quran compiled under the supervision of the Holy Prophet(pbuh) was with Hazrat Hafsa, daughter of Khalifa Umar(pbuh), so it was distinguished from all other Qurans. It was that original Quran which Hazrat Usman had had copied and distributed to all the states under Islamic rule, and had the other versions burnt. The arrangement was not according to the length of Surahs but as the Holy Prophet had done himself. The first Surah of the Quran, Surah Fatiha, is only 7 verses long, whereas the second Surah, Surah Baqara, is 286 verses long. What about the scribal errors in the Bible? Surahs repeat certain points, yes, but entire Surahs are not repeated. Jesus(pbuh) says in the Bible: Mat15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Here, Jesus(pbuh) clearly says that he was "sent" only to the 'lost sheep of the house of Israel'. "We did send apostles before thee and appointed for them wives and children: and it was never the part of an apostle to bring a Sign except as Allah permitted (or commanded). For each period is a Book (revealed)." (13:38) And about Prophet Muhammad(pbuh), the Quran says: "We have not sent thee but as a universal (Messenger) to men giving them glad tidings and warning them (against sin) but most men understand not." (34:28) God did not preserve it, but some part is bound to be preserved. Suppose I have a book which I add to whenever I feel like. Since I do not add to it with organisation, some part is bound to be left. But if I make a plan, e.g. Day 1; Add to pages 1-10 Day 2: Add to pages 11-20, etc, no page is going to be left out. His previous words were for a particular time and for a particular people. Afterwards, a new Revelation came from God which was more detailed than the first one. Finally, the Quran was revealed which contains the total detailed Message of God. The Injil and the Torah were for the guidance of certain people and for a certain period of time. They "were", nor are, for the guidance of mankind, not 'all' mankind. You say "Jesus(pbuh) is God" (nauzubillah) and you say that your Book says it, but it doesn't. Show me a verse in the Bible where Prophet Jesus(pbuh) claims divinity or says worship me. Where does the Quran mention Alexander the Great? In 18:89-98 Zulqarnain has been mentioned. Creation took six days. (Surah 7:54, 10:3, 11:7, 25:59) Creation took eight days. (Surah 41:9-12) Read the verses and at both places, Creation has been mentioned as havind taken place in 6 days. Surah 41, verses 9-11: 9 Say: Is it that ye Deny Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds. 10 He set on the (earth) Mountains standing firm high above it and bestowed blessings on the earth and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion in four Days in accordance with (the needs of) those who seek (sustenance). 11 Moreover He Comprehended in His design the sky and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together) in willing obedience." verse 9: earth created in 2 days verse 10: mountains and 'things for nourishment' created in 4 days verse 11: It says "Moreover" He created the sky and the earth and not "Then" he created the sky and the earth. Moreover means that God 'also created the sky and the earth' during the 6 days mentioned in verses 9 and 10. Firstly, the 'came together' is actually 'joined together', and it refers to the Big Bang Theory. According to the Big Bang Theory, the universe was at first 'joined together' and then it 'exploded', as the two verses say. Earth created first. (Surah 2:29) Heavens created first. (Surah 70:27-30) "It is He who hath created for you all things that are on earth; moreover His design comprehended the heavens for He gave order and perfection to the seven firmaments; and of all things he hath perfect knowledge." (2:29) See again the "moreover'. This verse doesn't say that the earth was created first, nor does it say that the heavens was created first. 70:27-30 don't speak about the heavens. They say: 27 And those who fear the displeasure of their Lord 28 For their Lord's displeasure is the opposite of Peace and Tranquillity 29 And those who guard their chastity 30 Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess for (then) they are not to be blamed Pharoah was drowned. "This day shall We save thee in thy body that thou mayest be a Sign to those who come after thee! But verily many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs!", (10:92) Where does 10:92 say that pharoah drowned? It says that his body would be saved as a Sign from God, and surely we know that after being drowned, pharoah's body came to the shore, and that it is preserved today.
11:43 says that Noah's son did not go aboard the ark. 21:76 says: "(Remember) Noah when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress." The 'family' of Noah mentioned here refers to those who believed in him and not his actual family. The Quran says in Surah 11: 45 And Noah called upon his Lord and said: "O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true and Thou art the Justest of Judges!" 46 He said: "O Noah! he is not of thy family: for his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel lest thou act like the ignorant!" See the 'family' mentioned in these verses. It clearly refers to the Believers and not to Prophet Noah's(pbuh) actual family. I can continue answering all of the alleged contradictions you have mentioned, but the ones after this have been taken from answering-islam.org. I don't know if the ones I've answered here are there or not, but at least I recognize the ones mentioned hereafter. The answers are given on the answering-christianity.org website. But if you still want me to answer them, I can do that. I guess this one is not mentioned there: 2:115 says: "To Allah belong the East and the West; whithersoever ye turn there is the presence of Allah. For Allah is All-Pervading All-Knowing. " Where are the Mecca and Jerusalem mentioned here? Verse 144: "We see the turning of thy face (for guidance) to the heavens; now shall We turn thee to a Qiblah that shall please thee. Turn then thy face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque; wherever ye are turn your faces in that direction. The people of the book know well that that is the truth from their Lord nor is Allah unmindful of what they do. " Previously, Muslims used to pray facing Masjid-al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. Allah later commanded the Muslims to face the Kaaba in Mecca. During a prayer, the Holy Prophet(pbuh) was revelead this verse, and during the very prayer he changed his direction, and so did the Muslims praying behind him. Take care |
