ArchivedErrors in the Bible?Kaiser Wrote As you mentioned there were a number of Qurans wriiten in different arabic dialects, different accents in arabic could result in a different Surah altogether. meaning to to entire verse/passage/Surah. Other wise why would they have been destroyed? How do we know witch one was the correct one? The Quran that we have in our hands now is called the Uthman's Quran, which was collected long after Mohammed's death. Parts of the original Quran must have been lost, after many of the reciters of the Quran died or were killed in battle. Uthman, the third Caliph (successor of Mohammed) gathered what was left of the Quran, arranged it by length of Surahs rather than chronologically, then burned all other existing copies. The Bible, on the other hand, has stood the test of time. To suggest that the Bible has been altered is against both reason and historic findings. Neither Christians nor Jews can reasonably be accused of altering their Scriptures. One reason is that they didn't have anything to gain from doing so, and if they did, they wouldn't willingly spill their blood defending it. In the book of Revelation God puts a severe punishment on those who add to or take away, any part of God's Word. Revelation 22:18-19 "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book". Also: "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it; that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you." Kaiser Wrote Miscopied? when we talk about miscopied we are talking mainly about numbers etc.. not entire verses. If the writers wrote the SAME thing, what is the matter? as long as the writer didnt write something that contradicts the other, there shouldn't be a problem! There are many places in the NT that state the same thing. In the Quran some Surah's repeat the same thing. Surah Saba' 34:28 Allah says, "We sent you not except to the whole mankind, a giver of good news and a warner..." This speaks of Mohammed, yes, but what good is that to me if I dont believe he was even a Prophet? The Quran states that Jesus only came to the Jews but the Bible says differently. In Matthew 10:5-6, Jesus gave explicit instructions to his disciples to whom they should preach his message, by commanding "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" Jesus came to the house of Israel FIRST, then to the rest of the world. Kaiser Wrote Could you show me were in the Quran or hadeth does it state that any word of God was ever for a limited time period. "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." Mark 13:31 The Qur'an claims that no one can alter the word of God. It says, "It is the law of Allah which hath taken course aforetime. Thou wilt not find for the law of Allah aught of power to change" Kaiser Wrote Its not complete word of God? so it is partially the word of God? God perserved half or some of his word? why didnt he perserve all his word? Kaiser Wrote Why only the Quran? what about his previous words? Kaiser Wrote The Qur'an asserts that the Torah, the Zabur, the Sahaif and the Injil, are God's books, His word, light, and "Furqan" (that is, criterion). The Qur'an emphasises that the Injil (bible) and the Torah are guidance for all mankind, "clear testimonies for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy. Kaiser Wrote Christians and Jews did not alter their Scriptures based on historic evidence. Many manuscripts of early copies of the Bible were discovered through the years, and were found to match the text we have now. Here are some of these famous manuscript: The Sinaitic - It was written in the middle of the fourth century, about 270 years before Islam. It contains the whole of the New Testament and a large part of the Old Testament. It is now kept in the British Museum The Alexandrian - It was written in the early fifth century, more than 200 years before Islam. It contains the whole Bible, except a few pages that have been lost. It is also kept in the British Museum. The Vatican - It was written in the early fourth century, about 300 years before Islam. It contains the whole Bible. It is now kept in the Vatican Library at Rome. These and other manuscripts such as Codex Ephraemi and the Dead Sea Scrolls and the thousands of other copies or part of copies of the early Bibles prove beyond doubt that the Bible could not possibly be altered or corrupted. Read this Surah that you gave me again; "There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues; (as they read) you would think it is a part of the Book but it is no part of the Book; and they say "That is from Allah" but it is not from Allah: it is they who tell a lie against Allah and (well) they know it!" (3:7 It doesnt actually say changing the words of the book. Kaiser Wrote Okay; According to the Quran Surah 18:89-98 Alexander the Great was a devout Muslim and lived to a ripe old age. Historical records however show that Alexander the Great died young at 33 years of age (356 - 323 B.C.), and believed he himself was divine, forcing others to recognize him as such. In India on the Hyphasis River (now Beas) Alexander erected twelve altars to twelve Olympian gods. Once again the Quran shows errors in historical and religious fact. Creation took six days. (Surah 7:54, 10:3, 11:7, 25:59) Creation took eight days. (Surah 41:9-12) Heavens/Earth came together at creation. (Surah 41:11) Heavens/Earth were ripped apart at creation. (Surah 21:30) Earth created first. (Surah 2:29) Heavens created first. (Surah 70:27-30) Pharaoh drowned. (Surah 17:103, 28:40, 43:55) Pharaoh did not drown. (Surah 10:92) All of Noah's sons were aboard the ark. (Surah 21:76-77) Not all of Noah's sons were aboard the ark. (Surah 11) One angel spoke to Mary. (Surah 19:17-21) Several angels spoke to Mary. (Surah 3:42-45) Paradise has one garden. (Surah 39:73, 41:30, 57:21, 79:41) Paradise has many gardens. (Surah 18:31, 22:23, 35:33, 78:32) Allah can have a son. (Surah 39:4) Allah can't have a son. (Surah 6:101) Face Mecca while praying. (Surah 2:115, 144) Face Jerusalem while praying. (Surah 2:115, 144) I will be waiting, there are many, many more. Peace |
