ArchivedJesus asking God to make his disciples God?I can understand what you are saying here. But a few things I would like to discuss. (1)You mentioned the miracles of modern science, yet we are debating about a time which is not modern but thousands of years ago. Hence, you cannot relate the miracles of modern science which involve artificial insemination to the virgin birth of Christ. (2) The virgin birth of Christ does not involve the seed of man (the prophecy in Genesis mentions the seed of the woman), but artificial insemination does (just not through sexual means). So my argument still stands: according to the logic of Muslims, if the Trinity is mathematically impossible then the virgin birth is biologically impossible. Yet they believe in the virgin birth. In your attempt (your second paragraph of your second post in this topic) to show that Christ being the Word of God does not mean He is God, you have made a slight mistake. You see, not only does John 1 imply that Christ is the Word of God, it also says "the Word was God" in John 1:1 itself. I guess you must have overlooked that. All the Apostles teach Christ is God in the flesh, not only Paul. And may I mention that Christians are allowed to say the Father is greater than the Son, but the fact still remains that you cannot know the Father unless you accept the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. Is a person considered to be Muslim even if that person believes in Allah, but rejects the prophets of Allah? Not according to the Muslims I have heard from. Therefore, Christ is the only way to the Father, and this I can claim is something which literally (not spiritually or figuratively) came out of the mouth of Christ. Other teachings which came out of the mouth of Christ (since you seem to be interseted in what Jesus says) is His death and resurrection (something which Islam teaches against anyway). Christ also called Peter (His own desciple) "Satan", because he was denying Jesus' death. No they are not. And may I remind you--you said Paul never met Jesus, but he did. In the book of Acts is where Paul gets converted and the reason for his conversion was because of his meeting with Christ on the road to Damascus. It is a quote from the Father and though you say its author is unknown, no one really knows if the angel Gabriel came to Muhammed. But unlike that claim, there are evidences (both internal and external) that can support the author of Hebrews being Paul. Besides this, the claim of an unknown author does not take away from the revelation of the Holy Spirit--something which Islam will never understand. Also, you say the angels bowed down to Adam? This is only according to your Qu'ran. No where in the Holy Bible did the angels bow down to Adam. Yes, you are right. But why did Christ not take credit? Refer again to Philippians 2:5-8 since we have established the fact that Paul does not contradict the teachings of the other apostles. I've realized that you've never carefully read the Holy Bible. For one thing, you say Hitler was a Christian, yet Christ refers to "wolves in sheeps clothing." So, if someone does evil acts and claims that they are Christian, that does not knock Christianity at all seeing that Christ forewarns that their will be "wolves in sheeps clothing." But only God can judge the hearts of men, therefore I will withold judgement from Hitler. So far in this debate, I've agreed with you on two things. (1) The fact that Jesus says He and the Father are one does not have to mean Jesus is God. (2) Logic is to be taken into account in this debte somewhat. (I refuse to accept man made logic which I initially implied, but logic in terms of the spirit and conscience, I will accept). |
