Gary Duane Falke
FALKE, Gary Duane—Age 59, a resident of Camas Valley, Oregon, passed away at his home on April 4, 2004, after a long courageous battle against lung cancer. He was born on August 6, 1944, in Whittier, California, to parents George A. and Lucille (Hostetter) Falke. Gary moved from California to Oregon in 1971, where he met his wife, Judy. They were married in Stateline, Nevada, on July 22, 1972. Gary was discharged from the U.S. Army on July 4, 1967, after proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War. While in the service, he very much enjoyed touring Japan and Malaysia. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and was last employed by Plikat Logging. His special interests included classical music, hunting, fishing, target shooting, reloading, and discussing religious and political issues. Gary was very much a family man, teaching his girls a deep faith in God and encouraging them in all their pursuits. He also had a real great sense of humor that he retained to until the very end. Gary is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Lisa and Linda; parents, George and Lucille Falke; brother-in-law, Frank Milton and his wife, Gladys all of Camas Valley, Oregon; sister-in-law, Jeannine Dick of Roseburg, Oregon; aunts, Ellen Farquhar; Dorothy Callaghan; Blanche Williams; Ida Mae Simpson; nieces, Diane and Karen; nephews, Steve, Michael, Dan, Joe, David, Bob; and their spouses and children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Josephine Falke and Wayne and Fern Hostetter, sister/cousin, Bonnie Roeschlaub. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 8, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Camas Valley Methodist Church with Pastor Phyllis Stelson Officiating. Private family interment to follow at the Noah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Gary Falke to the Camas Valley Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
