ArchivedGod in the BiblePeace Katatonic Bliss, This has nothing to so with this discussion. Moses was a Jewish prophet for the Jewish people. Now that is BS. You imply this, but you are very wrong. The brother nation to Israel is Edom, but the context for brother in this verse means a future race of Jewish people. The Jews the in 1st century AD were the brothers of the Jews in Moses's time. Moses and Jesus have so much in common, definitely Christ is the Prophet. God did not abondon His covent with Israel, rather He fulfilled it. You do not worship my God, my God's presence would never reside in a pagan shrine, and my God would never ever give his final revelation to some pagan Ishmaelite. If prophecies didn't prove that Jesus was the Lord, then Christianity would not be so convincing. The Holy Spirit is found in the Jewish scriptures many times. Numbers 11:25 Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke with him, and he took of the Spirit that was on him and put the Spirit on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did not do so again Judges 14:6 The Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done Numbers 11:29 But Moses replied, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!" 2 Samuel 23:2 "The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me; his word was on my tongue Psalm 51:11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD - Isaiah 40:13 Who has understood the spirit of the LORD , or instructed him as his counselor? Micah 3:8 But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD , and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin. Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 7:12 They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the LORD Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the LORD Almighty was very angry. |
