ArchivedHinduism, Buddism or another other religionFirstly, was not Christ the founder (or basis of, anyway) Christianity? He too had his theries on how to achieve happiness, and (this is going to be controversial) i'm not sure i've ever seen scriptural evidence of Jesus claiming that he himself was the son of God - that was everyone else... (though i'll be happy to be corrected on this) Secondly, Buddha did not have the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, and would have quite freely admitted this, since Buddhists don't believe in heaven, or God for that matter (with the exception of Pure Land Buddhists). Um, see my above response... Christianity...based on the teachings of Christ? Isn't Christianity also divided into a number of different groups(or some might say sects(with reference to the quote))? Anglican Communion, Episcopalian, Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Pentecostals, and Presbyterians, Roman catholics, eastern orthodox, evangelists... Buddha can't get into heaven even froma Buddhists point of view - i don't think their's any argument here. This discussion can be interesting, but people might want to be more careful of what they write as fact, when some of it is clearly debatable, or indeed, contradictory peace mia xxx |
