ArchivedPurification rituals in IslamHi carol, Also you can find in it: It simply means laws from God to us. I think I understand his point there, he means that if you don't believe in Islam entirely then you will not be saved. This includes the belief in God's law on earth. I think I explained it above, Shariah is a set of laws in which you have to abide by, God's law on earth. I don't think Law(Shariah) has anything to do with good and bad deeds, it shouldn't. Let me answer it my way, I need to be carefull with words now Believing in the law of God on earth, plus believing in all aspects of Islam, worshipping God, good deeds, works ALL will lead to salvation. So if you don't believe in the law of God on earth which is the Shariah then you are not a Muslim and not being a Muslim means you are not saved. quote me some laws, let me see please. So basically the law didn't change, only the circumenstances change. I don't really believe in that, there are several tradition from the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) saying that Heaven is gauranteed if you follow Islam in all of it's forms and obligations, we however still ask for forgiveness all the time non stop. Dear Carol, following the law is not enough, doing the good works is not enough, faith should be combined with them all. Read the following verses please: [23] Successful indeed are the believers; [23] who are reverent during their Contact Prayers (Salat). [23] And they avoid vain talk [23] And they give their obligatory charity (Zakat). [23] And they maintain their chastity. [23] Only with their spouses, or those who are rightfully theirs, do they have sexual relations; they are not to be blamed [23] Those who transgress these limits are the transgressors. 23:8] When it comes to deposits entrusted to them, as well as any agreements they make, they are trustworthy. [23] And they observe their Contact Prayers (Salat) regularly. [23] Such are the inheritors. [23] They will inherit Paradise, wherein they abide forever. Also, [23] When the horn is blown, no relations among them will exist on that day, nor will they care about one another [23] As for those whose weights are heavy, they will be the winners. [23] Those whose weights are light are the ones who lost their souls; they abide in Hell forever. [23] Fire will overwhelm their faces, and they last miserably therein. [23] Were not My revelations recited to you, and you kept on rejecting them? 23:106] They will say, "Our Lord, our wickedness overwhelmed us, and we were people gone astray. [23] "Our Lord, take us out of this; if we return (to our old behavior), then we are really wicked." [23] He will say, "Abide therein, humiliated, and do not speak to Me. [23] "A group of My servants used to say, `Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and shower us with mercy. Of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful.' [23] "But you mocked and ridiculed them, to the extent that you forgot Me. You used to laugh at them. [23] "I have rewarded them today, in return for their steadfastness, by making them the winners." [31] Surely, those who believe and lead a righteous life have deserved the gardens of bliss. You see, you have to have faith and with faith come the belief in God's law on earth, his prophets. You worship him and adore him. You believe in all of his prophets, you believe in the judgement day, every thing revealed in the Quran. I hope I answered your question. Please make sure you understand is that when I say Shariah I mean God's law on earth, from there I think you will have no problem understanding my argument. Thanks Carol. Hope you come back soon . |
