Wow, that's a cool question...the muslims that are fairly adherent wake up before dawn which is about an hour and a half before sunrise and usually wash. Now that its Ramadan (the month where we fast) we usually eat a small meal...then we go to the mosque and pray and during the morning we usually stay a little longer and read or chat about religious issues amongst ourselves.
Then i go home and start work, and when it comes time for the next prayer (immediately after noon time) i go to the mosque and pray or try to make it there, if not i pray at home or whereever i am.
Then i work some more till the next prayer, it begins at the halfway point between noon and sundown...then usually eat and read some more...then pray at sundown....then go and visit people's homes and shortly after that is the last prayer.
For muslims who go to school or work in the corportate world or travel, they pray wherever they are.
Hope that helps, and yes Islam is alot more than Just going to the place of worship....prayer is such a small part of it, but totally important.
and to one of ur points: muslims are not allowed to miss a prayer under any circumstance except if you are extremely sick, unconcious, or for women during their menstrual cycles.
