Then why not eat Castor Beans or Jasmine berries also?
Vegetation helps sustain life. We eat many plants, herbs and so forth in our daily diet. But, we must remember to be choosy. Some plants, trees or shrubs are potential killers of man. Some part of the ornamental plants or flowers in your yard may contain deadly poison. Many poisonous plants are so common and seemingly innocuous you do not suspect their toxic qualities.

THC carbohydrate is nothing but a substance to fend off insects.
THC stands for (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol), the major psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. THC is a naturally occuring akaloid found only in the cannabis species. THC is concentrated primarily in the inflorescence (flower parts) of the female plant and to a lesser extend in the leaves, and is nonexistant in the roots, stem and seeds. THC is believed to act as a natural pesticide protecting the plant from insects and disease, as well as a natural fungicide protecting the seeds. The fact that THC levels rise when plants are stressed by drought or weed competition point to THC’s important role in the plants defensive physiology. All cannaboids (including THC, CBD & CBG) have the ability to absorb UV-B radiation, a particularily useful trait given the thinning of the ozone layer. This may become even more important as the worlds largest protien crop, soybeans, is very susceptible to UV radiation.
