You unfortunately have come into the discussion mid way through and missed the reason for the title. We actually were not discussing whether the Qur'an or the Bible is the Word of God.. ( I agree with you.. they can't both be). We were actually discussing a time in Muhammed's life when he endorsed idolatry, believing that it was God's voice talking to him.
If you read this topic in the Qur'an-Bible debate forum, and scroll down to Julie's post, then follow with the ones from Zams2001 and myself and others you will see why these verses are dubbed "the satanic verses". There is no doubt that Muhammad listened to Satan and endorsed idolatry. Even Muslim Theologians agree to that, and whilst they all say he was later visited by Gabriel who rebuked him, it still stands that he couldn't distinguish between God's (Allah's) voice and Satan's voice when it came to him.
Please read this in this thread with evidence from the hadith and then do come back and we can talk more about it.
