ArchivedThe God of the Old Testament is the same God of the NewActually, they did not really have different attitudes. God in the Old Testament was still kind and forgiving. And Jesus in the New Testament will eventually show His wrath in the final days. There were many parables which Jesus gave that were "rude" in terms of what pagans would say. Jesus said to the Pharisees, "If you do not believe I am He, you would die in your sins!" (John 8:24). Jesus got angry and chased people out of the temple for their wickedness in Mark 11:15-16. Jesus also gave parables in which at the end of them he threatened the unfaithful servant to be thrown into outer darkness where there would be "weeping and gnashing of teeth." When the unfaithful servant would knock to enter where the saints were, Jesus denied the servant and said, "I do not know you." So there is a time for God to be good, and a time for God to express His wrath. |
