Mr Banks,
If you are still around, I'm preparing dessert for later.. but here is your glass of milk in the meantime.
You have a way of not answering my questions sometimes.. you still didn't tell me if you have truly found God in Islam. The only purpose of the Bible is to lead man to God.. it's entire purpose!, it stands and falls on that purpose.
What is the purpose of the Qur'an? Why does the Qur'an seem to spend more time talking about Muhammed and answering questions or making comment about the things that Muhammed saw and experienced than it does about honouring God?
Why does Islam point more to Muhammed than to Allah?
(whoops, dessert will spoil if I keep this up)..
Seriously, you say that you left Christianity because you saw hypocracy there.. can you honestly say you see no hypocracy in Islam?
If the Bible is to lead you to a personal relationship with God, and the church you attend does not do that, it needn't stop you being a "God-fearing" honest person. For one thing, I'd love to know what strand of Christianity you belonged too.
You say you left Christianity because of it's doctrines and teachings. As a Muslim you have maintained that independent streak by saying you don't follow the Hadith or the traditions, and that you are Muslim without following any strand. Let me say, the different strands of Islam, probabaly produce feelings of different emotions from anger to sadness at the way different people promote Islam around the world.
I would be the first to say I too, have major problems with strands of Christianity. I am embarrassed and saddened by what I see said and done in the name of my Lord. But never, NEVER would I reject Him, because of what I see and hear done in His name.
I read the Bible and I find in it life! Words that are not just words to be argued over, or dealt with as a text book. These are to me, the very Words of the One and Only God. God is as eternal as His word. I could spend all day defending it and for every comment against it's authenticity I have just one response... "if it is God's Word, can not God be believed? He promised He would never let His Word disappear".
I know Him and I know the power of His resurrection. I know what it means to have the knowledge of His love in my life day by day and moment by moment. This is not mere emotionalism. It is a certainty, it is as real as you and I discussing in this forum.
I will be back soon with dessert Will be interested in hearing your response.
