The reason is that we are so easily deceived. If someone wants to be, or pay attention to, a psychic, then that person has chosen a lie. Of course the psychic will be able to help -- sometimes -- and it's never a guarantee how often. Satan and his demons know about those crimes and where the bodies are. And if someone is tuning into that side of things, yes, there will be information available to promote the lie that there are people who can 'tell' the past or future through contact with the spirit world.
And then the entanglement increases. It is deadly dangerous. Please watch something else on TV!
Yes, and what of those Psychics who manage to save a kidnapped childs life?! If God exists, which I am not sure of, then who says the psychics aren't recieving help from God?

Now, my mother and my future mother-in-law both were phychic. My mom had dreams, horrible ones, and she prayed for them to stop---they did! My fiance's mom had premonissions. She was always right, so it could have been from God.
Both were exposed to cultish and "new agey" things. Could this have influenced their abilities (ie, make them more vulnerable to demonic powers)?
As for your mother, who says her 'visions'-if they were true, If not, they could have easily been nightmares- were caused by a demon. If they were ture, it could have been a gift from God, if not, everyone has nightmares. Either way, I am sure 'God' would have helped. He would have removed his Gift from an unwilling person or eased her life by removing the nightmares.
I, personally, do not believ in 'demons'. I believe in spirits who are neither good nor bad. Everyone has both 'good' and 'evil' inside of them, as do spirits.

Yes. The imagination does play a large part in religion it seems. It is not the only part, but obviously a part of it.
