Revelation and Prophecy :: EschatologyPost trib
An entire generation of Christians will not taste physical death. Instead, they (we) will be instantaneously “caught up” into the air. This will happen immediately after the dead in Christ are raised, for we all have the same destination—the same appointment: to meet Yahshua. We will be caught up together. There will be no meaningful time gap—no time to fret over the salvation of loved ones who proceeded us. And we are told that we will meet the Supreme Authority “in the air.” The Greek word for “caught up” used in Thessalonians is harpazo. It means “to catch away, snatch up, or take as if by force.” It is virtually synonymous with the Hebrew word palat used in the 22nd Psalm to explain how those who trusted Yahweh would be “carried safely away.” The Latin equivalent is rapiemur, from which we derive the commonly used term for this event, “rapture.” Satan does not have power over the Bride of Christ—Christians. Ekklesia, the word we translate church, really means “a calling out.” We are harpazo by Christ’s love and sacrifice to be ekklesia. These things are related and they come full circle. |
