ArchivedWhy pray to Mary?Aieno Wrote: In most ways the Orthodox Church's stands close to the Roman Catholic Church, for during their history they were formally a unit. It honors the same 7 Sacraments, with fundamentally the same interpretation. The Orthodox love Mary and venerate her as the Mother of God and as Virgin, the two dogmas proclaimed before their separation from the Catholics... they don't have the other 3 dogmas proclaimed after 787, the Assumption, the Immaculate Conception, and Mother of the Church. The Christ is the good Shepherd , So was Horus, Christ is the Lamb of God, So was Horus, Christ is the Bread of Life, So was Horus, Christ is the Truth and the Life, So was Horus, Christ is the Door of Life, Horus was the path on which the dead travel out of the sepulchre; he is the god whoe name is written as the Road. Does This mean that Christ isn't the good shepherd? that He wasnt the lamb of God? or the bread of life? No! It doesnt nethier did Christianity take anything from Horus or any other pagan diety. So this can also mean the assumption of Mary doesnt have to have been taken from Isis. Peace |
