Excellent thread my people..
I was born and baptized as a Lutheran. But I always consider myslef a wanna-be-Christian who attends the Lutheran church. (The reason why I say "wanna-be" is because in my belief, to be a Christain is to lead a "Christ-like" life. And in this age, no man can make that claim to 100%)
My belief is from Jesus's word. "The kingdon of God can be sought and reached through me".
I believe this in 2 aspects: First - Believing in Chirst carrying the sins of the world upon him, dying on the Cross, and resurrecting on the 3rd day after ascending into hell. Believing he is the one true Savior, that he died for us, and that he will return, is the faith he asks from us.
Second - in saying "The kingdon of God can be sought and reached through me". I also believe this means Chirst asks not only for our faith, but to lead the life he lead. To love thy ememy more than thy friend, and to preach the word as he did.
These are the "faith and good works" that I believe all religions are reffering to. Regardless of your demonination, seeking the Kingdon of God through Christ is the only way.
Peace and Godspeed to you all
