ArchivedI am an ex-ex-homosexual (Plus other comments)Actually, Exodus only helps people "overcome homosexuality" in the same way that Alcoholics Anonymous helps people "overcome alcoholism." Those who go through the AA 12 Step Program only modify their behavior avoiding consumption of alcholic beverages; but, they are still alcoholics. I know a whole lot about AA programs because when I was homeless for 2 months I stayed at a half-way house for those who were alcoholics and/or drug addicts. The director of the house knew from the very start that I was not an alcoholic nor a drug addict; because a friend of mine who was a drug rehab counselor with Tulsa Indian Health Care Resource Center was told by his cousin and my pastor at the time, Bill Thompson, "Get Joe a better place to stay than at the John 3:16 Mission at night." While I did not have to pay anything to stay there, I did have to attend AA meetings when they met in the dining hall. They were open to the community meetings. Exodus teaches homosexuals how to practice a "heterosexual lifestyle" to satisfy those who live an active heterosexual life in thought and/or deed and are donating money to them. As far as homosexuals acting like homosexuals, there are lots of people in the movies and television who are openly gay in real life and play heterosexuals in show business. In fact, most homosexuals don't act any different than heterosexuals in public. Very few homosexuals even fit the homosexual feminine stereotypes. One should not assume that a man with less than masculine mannerisms is a homosexual. |
