ArchivedPeople Of The Book problem...It means the Quran is glorious and preserved. It refers to Christians and Jews According to the Quran, every nation in every time has received a prophet from God. ALl the revelations consist of the pure worship of God as explained in the Quran. Now whether it survived properly or not that is another subject. And why is it risky? Muhammad in the first place never went and asked the jews anything about what was revealed to him. As a matter of fact if you go through the Hadith tradition, every time Muhammad (pbuh) recited that verse he said:" I believe and I don't need to ask" One more thing, you can't generalize that the whole message is corrupted anyway. We don't believe in that. Also, the prophet (pbuh) said:" If you hear them telling you stories from their book, do not believe or disbelieve, rather say: we believe in what was revealed to us through the Quran" So the prophet never engaged himself in any discussions from the jews in that matter. He always recited the Quran for them to hear, and it was always up to them to believe or not. And since these days alot of Muslims and CHristians are engaged in debates, Most Muslims have come to the conclusion that since the Quran is the ultimate authority, then if anything contradict with the Quran in the OT then we don't see it as God's word. If they agree, then it might be. That is because we actually don't know (as far as me personally) THat is not an order to go to those people Carol. It is rather "stating a fact" that many prophets like Muhammad (humans) received the same message that Muhammad (pbuh) has received. It confirms that "YES" God has sent prophet to all nations and to the Jews also. And the Question to be asked :"Did God send prophets to you?" , their answer would be yes. These verses are educating the Prophet and Us that indeed God has sent prophets to all nations. IT is a declaration to us that our religion is not new. But it is the last pure form of worship that has been given to us and would not go under the same circumenstances that other scripture has gone through. Again, you will need to connect with other verses of the Quran and you will see the picture in a better way. There is no denial that the Quran affirms that the Jews added and deleted. There is no doubt that the Quran call people who believe in Jesus as God as Pagans. |
