ArchivedCan anyone clear up the confusion?I've read through quite a few of the forums on this website. I've come to the conclusion that Christians and Muslims both believe in the same God but have conflicting opinions concerning their respective "Books" and the way they should lead their lives. The difference in opinion seems to stem from the luck of the draw of ones birth - country, culture, etc. I've always been a believer in God but have been confused on the "right" way to live my life in reflection of my belief in Him. I was raised in an apostolic church to believe that if anyone did not believe in the way we were taught they were bound for hell. I could never reconcile that with the idea that God would condemn so many people just because they had different views. I quit attending church not because I quit believing in Him but because I got tired of the sum in the collection plate being more important than the health of the souls attending services. There are so many "rules" for "getting into heaven" in every religion. They all want you to believe in God. Then they start getting foggy on the particulars such as being baptized, praying several times a day, doing the hail Mary's, what and what not to eat, what and what not to wear, who and who not to marry. The list goes on. It would be great if some miracle happened and cleared up the confusion that casues so many people to give up on believing in anything or anyone. |
