ArchivedBaptism required?Exactly Aineo. Stop taking passages out of context Preacherintraining. If I open the bible and I see a verse where God says, "Kill them and their new borns and take their spoils," am I going to actually do that? Not if I read the passage in its context. Jesus said, "Whatever you ask of the Father in my name, He will give it." Jesus specifically said that, so if I ask God to let me fly or if I continue to ask God for a million dollars would He give it to me? Not if I put that passage in its context, which means God will give me anything I ask for according to His will, which Jesus taught many times. Jesus showed this in the Lord's prayer by saying "Thy will be done" and Jesus showed this in His final prayer before being arrested when He asked the Father to have this cup removed. Jesus said, "but not my will, but thy will be done." Finally, can you please answer the question preacherintraining. All I want is a yes or no answer: If someone believed in their heart that Jesus died for them and repented of their sins on a Wednesday night, planned to be baptized on Sunday, but got killed on Thursday night, is that person saved? If you say you won't answer the question, then you're going to show skepticism in the fact you believe baptism saves. |
