Romans:
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!
Joel:
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

These people needed an act(not works) to write it upon their hearts!
But not all do!
Has to do with faith!
The name that is above all Names!
Jesus

First, to ignore the fact that the statement in Romans is made
to people who have already BEEN BAPTIZED (Rom. 6:3-5) is to take the
entire comment out of context. Second, you assume that your definition
of what it means to "call on the name of the Lord" is the same as God's
definition. What about those in Matthew 7:20-23? They are calling upon
the Lord and yet they are rejected by Christ. Is it not because calling
on the Lord in the acceptable way involves bearing fruit? (v. 20) Oh,
no! That would make bearing fruit a work, would it not? Let's see. . .
you call on the Lord, but you are bearing no fruit, so you are lost.
But, Romans and Joel say that is all you have to do! Obviously we need
to understand that their definition involves more than what you are
implying.
