Bible History ResearchMoney and the BibleJust look at your own posts and tell me that you are displaying Christian values. You remind me of the pot calling the kettle black. Where does it say that it is not okay to drive a car; or that being a Christian is a guarantee you want have a birth defect or sin? Where does it say I can judge a man or woman who claims membership in the Body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. Where does it say the husband is head of the wife? Ephesians 5:23. If only Jesus word’s carry weight with you explain this: Jesus confirms that male/female marriage is the only approved union. Gay theology argues that Jesus did not condemn same-sex unions; but He did not approve them either. So your argument is based on silence not Christ’s approval. And who is going to clean your house, fix your car, bury your trash, cut your hair, take care of your yard and all the other daily chores you don’t want to dirty your hands with. You remind me of the quarterback who thinks he is the glory of a football team. The best quarterback on any team is useless without the men on the front line who defend him. It takes a team to accomplish anything. As to our beliefs being a cult you need to learn what a cult is. Your beliefs are more indicative of a cult than ours since mainline Christianity has never accepted homosexuality as God approved. But since you refuse to accept the Bible lets address the lack of empirical evidence for homosexuality being genetic. Here is a quote from the jacket notes of Dean Hamer’s book “The Science of Desire”. Irving Bieber’s book “Homosexuality” was hailed as a new approach to counseling gay men seeking professional help in overcoming homosexuality. I find it curious this book published in 1968 was hailed by the APA as a breakthrough in counseling who then in 1973 removed homosexuality from the DSM III after an arbitrary decision by the APA executive committee. Simon LeVay’s attempt to demonstrate a similarity in the hyper thalamus of gay men and women has been discounted by other neuroanatomists so would you care to validate a genetic basis for homosexuality through science and not arrogant opinions. EFS cited a report by Dr. Spitzer that counters your stance and the Journal of Homosexuality and NARTH have demonstrated that men with deeply held spiritual convictions can and have changed their sexual orientation. So mr. Shrink you can stand on your theories but others with just as extensive an alphabet after their names disagree with you; and disagree with less arrogance and more understanding for those who don’t want to accept what they consider unacceptable behavior. Yes, I have AIDS. But concentrating on my medical condition will not change Biblical truth. How many of your wealthy patients are patients because of lifestyle choices? If all people trusted in the Lord and not pills and educated men with limited knowledge you and most other shrinks and psychologists would be pan-handling instead of charging outrageous fees for doing what we as Christians are called to do every day of our lives - “love your neighbor as yourself”. You can continue your personal attacks; but you won’t change my mind or gain any respect from other psychiatrists and psychologists who don’t adhere to your theories. Oh, and BTW you best tell BQO that if he does not change his ways I will see him in the AIDS ward soon. Any man who brags about getting a “blow job” from a 19-year-old is going to eventually end up HIV+. BTW, I am still waiting for your comments on the Hope article I posted. You can try to rationalize gay life until the Lord returns but the reality is the life is a dead end in more ways than one. As to having maids so your wife doesn't have to lift a finger, sloth is a sin. As to country club memberships, big deal. I can enjoy great meals in great restaurants without paying big fees to belong to an elitist group where the nouveau riche can look down their noses at the plebians who serve them. |
