Wrong.
John 1:1, that's what the author said about Jesus. Jesus didn't claim himself to be God.
John 10:30 " I and my Father are one " . A clear statement saying he is God, but let's continue reading.
John 10:33 " Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
And this is why the Jews don't believe in Jesus, because Christians believe he is God or son of God. It is unimaginable to them for a person to claim to be God.Anyway, let's continue reading.
John 10:34-38 " Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him"
Jesus defended himself here and wanted to show them he didn't claim to be God.
1) Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
It means, you call other people Gods in the bible
2)If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
In other words, alot of people were called gods in the bible and Jesus was sent by god and santified and claimed to be like these people who were gods not a real God. Jesus agrees here that he isn't blasphemis because he didn't call himself God. He defended himself and showed them that they call other people gods and HE IS NO DIFFERENT FROM THEM.He simply wanted to say he isn't blasphemis also according to the way they view God.
3)If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him
If Jesus does not do the works of God then don't believe him. He did the works of God, yet you won't believe in him. Believe is his works so you may know that Jesus is sent.
Now don't come back and tell that "the Father is in me, and I in him" means he is God. read it again and go back to "Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?" you will see that it only means he is a messanger of God, a prophet just like all the other prophets. Also, many examples in the bible saying the same thing Jesus said yet they didn't claim to be God but simply a meesanger of God
Jesus clearly said that he cannot do things on his own without the help of God yet you come back and say
Jesus was temporarily emptied of his independent use of his divine attributes
I can only say wow, science fiction. You don't know nothing about God and can't claim nothing about God. God is indescribable.
This Jesus you are talking about lost faith in his God when he said "God, God, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME"
