Various cultures have clearly regarded homosexuality with varying degrees of tolerance and intolerance. Yes. C.S. Lewis, at least, makes a much better case for Christianity than the Bible does. Of course, that's a bit of a problem in and of itself. I'm sorry. But I hope you aren't generalizing from that experience to some conclusion about Jewish people in general. If so, I can only say that my personal experience has been the complete opposite. I was referring to Chrys's complaint and/or joke. While I think the Christian doctrine of homosexuality = rape = fornication = sin is wrong, in both senses of the word, I wouldn't trivialize it like that. |
