Child Molestation is a Sin!The Homosexual Link To Pedophilia?HIV became a manageable disease in 1995 when the FDA approved Protease Inhibitors. Had this medication become widely used just 6 months earlier my youngest brother might still be alive. This group of HIV meds saved thousands of lives, they even made it possible for those in terminal facilities to regain their health and return to work. However, this sneaky virus develops resistance to HIV meds, which means that the meds no longer manage HIV. Over the last 11 years I have had to change my meds 4 times due to side affects that could be fatal and the virus developing resistance to the meds I was taking. Now, those who live in developed nations and have good insurance have easy access to these meds. However, developing nations do not have the financial resources to pay for effective HIV treatment. My HIV medications cost almost $3,000 a month and is close to the average cost to treat just one HIV+ person. With 42 million infected the annual cost (if the money was available) to treat all 42 million would be about $1.5 trillion and this does not take into account the cost to treat the opportunistic diseases such as PCP (monthly cost about $900), KS, and etc. HIV can be compared to the flu virus, which requires a unique vaccine every year because of how fast it mutates. I have to disagree with your optimistic view. |
