The Bible is just as dusty and out of date as Pythagorean's Theorem, which was recorded on a stone tablet circa 1900-1600 BC. The first real advance in Mathematics over the "dusty and out of date science of mathematics" came with Isaac Newton, who was first and foremost a devout Christian who saw science as a way to explain God's creation.
You know HopelessComposer, if you are going to critique the Bible at least know what you are talking about. Some of the apostles were fisherman, but Matthew was a civil servant in the employee of Rome. Paul was a student of the Torah, which means he was fluent in Koine, Hebrew, and Aramaic. John's Gospel is used by universities as an excellent example of Koine Greek, which shows your ignorance of a book you do not understand.
What you seem to want to ignore is the moral laws found in the Bible are not unique to the Judeo/Christian ethic. Many of these moral laws are found in the Code of Hammurabi as well as the Pax Romano neither of which is a religious code. Also if you take the time to read the Scriptures and compare what they say with modern psychology you will find that modern psychology uses many of the same principles. Although knowledge has increased as prophesied in Daniel 12:4, human nature has not changed for thousands of years. Morality has always swung from the ultra conservative to ultra liberal and back many times in recorded history. Our modern cultures view of homosexuality is not really that much different than what was found in the ancient Greek city states.
Now as to what jjf1990 posted:
Daily notes that the homosexual movement accepts pedophilia. The North American Man-Boy Love Association, NAMBLA, has been a proud member of the so-called "gay rights" movement, and pedophile themes abound in gay literature.
This is partially true. At one time gay publications did advance NAMBLA's cause and pedophile themes in fact do abound in gay erotic literature. Therefore before you take offense at truth I suggest you educate yourself.
