Aineo & Alpha,
We obviously do differ in our understanding of the Trinity. Perhaps we should leave it at that. Thank you for sharing with me your beliefs. It has been a very profitable exercise to me, discussing with you these things, and for that I do thank you.
It is always very helpful to me to explore and discuss differing views with those who hold them. That is why I love these forums, and those bold enough to participate in them. Too often, I think, Christians move in their our own circles, never questioning why we believe what we believe, never meditating on the deep things of God, taking for granted the false doctrine that the mysteries of God as unfathomable, even unquestionable, because those with whom we worship and fellowship hold the same views and are never challenged to explain or defend them. Indeed, many go so far as to consider it heresy to entertain questions, or to consider views differing from their own.
I think these attitudes make for weak, even biggoted Christians. This condition may go far to explain why the Church is so fragmented and contentious.
A bit of mental and spiritual challenge is I think good. Sometimes it corrects error. At other times it reinforces ones foundational beliefs. The only caution I would offer anyone is that one must sincerely seek God's truth, trust Him to deliver it, and act on it when He reveals it. It is today the same challenge that faced the Church at its founding.
As a new participant in this forum I do have a couple of questions for you. What is your position on salvation by grace through the atoning work of Christ? If Christ is not part of a Trinity Godhead, who is he?
These are not trick questions. I do not want to debate them with you. I simply want to know what you believe.
Again, thank you for sharing what you have already shared, and for allowing me an opportunity to do likewise.
God bless,
jimmy
