God established the nation of Israel as a theocracy in about 1400 B.C. or if you prefer BCE. In about 931 BC after Solomon died Israel was divided into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah. In 722 the Assyrians captured Israel and in 586 BC the Babylonians conquered Judah. Therefore since 586 BC the Jews have not had the political right to enforce their religious laws. In 1948 AD the secular nation of Israel was established under a secular constitution, which does not enforce the Law of Moses. Now, if you want to know how religious Jews deal with God's law, ask them. |
