ArchivedJesus: The Son of Man or The Son of God?You did not get my message. I said I had more proof that Jesus is the Son of God through scripture than you do of the statement: "Jesus knew that in the future people would lay this claim, that he was the literal son of God, and he strongly refutes this in advance." Also, you tell me where Jesus destroyed the Torah(law)? He fulfilled the law. I have given you biblical evidence of this many times. "The law" mainly involves the Ten Commandments. Things like sacrifices were only commanded by God for Isreal at that time, but God promised that the sins of man were to be forgiven a different way in the future. That is not abandoning law. That is fulfilling law. And since you're so interested in law all of a sudden, you tell me, do Muslims give burnt offereings? Do you light a fire on Saturday?(You're not suppose to according to "the law."). You might be circumsized(or not), but do you obey ALL the other aspects of the law given in the Torah? There is plenty of blame to be shared in "abandoning" the law between Christians AND Muslims wouldn't you say? Please, show me where Jesus abandoned the law.
Why am I going to argue on something that I can argree with? If you don't think the Jews wanted to kill Jesus because He claimed to be the Son of God, but instead wanted to kill Him because of that one Sabbath day then that's fine. But even on that Sabbath(When Jesus healed someone), Jesus did not break the law because He said, "Is it unlawful to do a good deed on the Sabbath?" The Jews clearly wanted to kill Jesus for more reasons than a Sabbath. Finally, let's be hypothetical and say nowhere in the bible does Jesus say He is the Son of God, but only says He is the Son of man. Jesus Himself says the Son of man has power to forgive sins on earth (Read Matthew 9:1-6). So it looks like one day the Son of man would be judging you. |
