ArchivedJesus: The Son of Man or The Son of God?I'm not arguing against this. I was arguing your opinion on the passage that you posted. The fact that you are debating with me by using scripture that I believe is not illogical. I did not say that. Stop putting words in my mouth. I am saying your opinion on the passages are illogical. This is what I am arguing. I am disagreeing with this! First off, Jesus does not refute He is the Son of God, because if He did He would have said no when they asked Him are you the Son of God when He was at the cross(Matthew 26:63). But this is not what I am arguing. My main point is: those passages you posted had nothing to do with Jesus knowing that in the future people would lay the claim of Him being the Son of God. How can you make such an argument? I have more biblical proof that Jesus is the Son of God than you have of that statement. That's the point! Also, I find it funny that you would make this statement because you are only using Luke. But what about what Matthew says? In Matthew 16:15, Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus did not prohibit use of the term "Son of God," but instead said, "Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven" (Matthew 16:16-17). Why did you not use this passage to make your point? Hmm?!!!!! * Notice the term "The Son of God" is not only in the gospel of John. |
