I am not a physicist. I wouldn't know. A trip to wikipedia is in order. I do know that disagreemnt is essential to even have science in the first place. For scientists to all agree would mean scientific stagnation. Most of the things science has given us are the result two or more groups trying to proove each other wrong about a specific subject, and a another group, or sometimes an individual, investigating the claims and evidence of both and forming a synthesis. You are about to tap the keys of something created through the scientific method of trial, error, and conflict. This machine before you is a triumph of humanity. A peice of art that you can clearly see and touch and use. But we can see it. On the grand scale, we can see that there are things alive now that weren't always. On the small scale, we see microbes mutate before our very eyes. We see viruses adapt to immune systems. We see genetic drift in the appearance of each knew generation of humans. Creationists simply refuse to see. IDers see, but insist on throwing God in just to cushion their psyche. I have faith in man despite his faults. You have faith in God despite everything. |
